New Industrial Relations Course Offers Practical Training Solution
April 27, 2011 - Human Resource practitioners can now fast track a career in industrial relations thanks to
Industrial Relations 101, a new training course that combines the theory required in day to day industrial relations (IR) challenges
with practical activity based learning.
The course is being offered by IRIQ, the IR specialist consultancy, and provides a unique training solution for the industry.
Theresa Moltoni, Managing Director of IRIQ and CEO of sister company the recruitment and labour solutions firm People Resourcing Group, says that the training program will fill a gaping hole in the market.
"One of the biggest gripes we hear from HR and IR practitioners is the fact that there is no practical training available for developing IR professionals. With that in mind we have developed this specialist programme to give just that theoretical background and practical skills training," she said.
"The course is ideal for HR generalists looking to become IR specialists, operations managers looking to build their IR capacity,
or graduates who want to break into a career in IR."
Each course runs over 12 intensive day-long modules facilitated by IRIQs experienced IR practitioners. Modules can be delivered over the course of a year or in longer four day blocks.
Topics covered range from identifying and interpreting Modern Awards, putting in place workplace agreements, drafting employment contracts and IFAs, avoiding unfair dismissals, terminations, proactive IR strategies, a tour of Fair Work Australia and advanced advocacy skills that will assist practitioners to appear in conciliations as well as Fair Work hearings.
IRIQ recently aligned with People Resourcing Group. Established in 2008, it is focused on providing IR services to the construction, engineering, manufacturing and mining sectors. Call (07) 3221 4833 or visit w
