New Human Resources Manager for Pacific Internet

MELBOURNE, 28 September 2005 - Pacific Internet (Australia), part of the Asia Pacific’s largest telco-independent internet communications service provider (ICSP) by geographic reach, Pacific Internet Limited (NASDAQ: PCNTF), has appointed Louisa Gregory as their new Human Resources Manager. As a member of the company’s senior management team, she directs the national human resource function that caters for 135 employees spread across four sites.

Louisa Gregory brings a commitment of developing staff across the whole organisation to her role. Improved training, career enhancement and increased recognition for high performance are at the top of her priority list.

"The people at Pacific Internet are our greatest asset and we’re focussed on developing our skill base across the whole organisation so we can service our small to medium business (SMB) customers better than ever," she says.

Since taking on the job Louisa has played a key role in encouraging staff to undergo Cisco System’s certification program. This has seen call centre staff, sales executives and several members within the engineering team increase their technical knowledge and ability to develop advanced communications solutions for business customers. With several staff across various functions now Cisco certified, Pacific Internet is the first Australian ICSP to deliver a bundled connectivity and solution, powered by Cisco hardware, to the SMB market.

Louisa Gregory believes that to continue to attract top candidates, Pacific Internet has to be able to offer something more in a competitive human capital market.

"With low unemployment levels, the overall job market is becoming tighter. Within the IT industry, quality candidates are becoming more difficult to find and remuneration expectations are increasing.

"Our training and development program demonstrates we’re willing to work with each staff member to achieve their long term career goals," she says.

Louisa Gregory has been with the company since 2002 and previously headed up Pacific Internet’s customer accounts team. She has substantial call centre management experience and prior to joining Pacific Internet she spent eight years at SingTel Optus.

She has a Diploma of Business from Swinburne University and is currently working towards a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management at Deakin University. Louisa Gregory is also a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
