July 9 2008 - Flex Planner, a new web based product from a Yorkshire
based software development house, was launched on 1 July 2008. Flex
Planner is a web based time recording and flexi time system for use by
computer based staff. It is being launched within a variety of
organisations from both the public and private sector, including local
and county councils, universities and other government organisations.
The system is aimed at revolutionising the way companies record and
regulate flexi time, with the hope of encouraging greater uptake of
flexi time in businesses across the UK and the world. To this aim,
the system is completely free for individuals, though a small charge
is made to organisations to cover the host of hosting and enhancing
the system.
With the recent announcement in May 2008, that the right to request
flexible working is to be extended to about 4.5 million parents of
children aged up to 16, flexible working policy has never been more
timely, and is now increasingly becoming more relevant to the private
organisation.
The Flex Planner system is unique in that it acts like a clocking in
and out system, which many people are familiar with, but without any
hardware expenditure, such as card readers and other clocking hardware
- therefore the cost for deployment is very low. If required the
system can be used by home based workers - very pertinent in these
times when increased fuel prices are making remote working a more and
more popular option.
Bill Winder, manager at Net-Aspect Web Systems, the Wakefield based
creators of Flex Planner explains: "With the wide variety of flexi
time policies out there, our flexi time system has been developed from
the ground up to fit all types of organisation, from the large local
council to small private sector organisations. Early adopters have
proved that the unique way in which the system works quickly brings a
return to organisations, both in the increased regulations of user’s
timesheets and through cutting administration costs."
