Robbins-Gioia Wins First Place in 2005 HR Service Excellence Award

Company's Human Capital Planning Service Offering Also Applied In-House

March 21 2006 - Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of program management services, is pleased to announce that its human resources department won first place in the 2005 HR Service Excellence Award. The award's categories included companies with fewer than 500 employees; those with 501 to 2,500 employees; and those with more than 2,500 employees. Robbins-Gioia won first place in the second category with an 89 percent favorable rating from its employees.

The rating came from the HR Service Excellence survey, which was sent to Robbins-Gioia employees in October 2005. Employees were asked to rate the HR department in approximately 40 different areas, such as approachability and professionalism; knowledge and communication of policies and benefits; effectiveness in the recruiting, hiring, and orientation of new employees; and effectiveness in employee development and training. The survey was conducted by roughly 658 participating organizations.

In the October 2005 issue of Virginia Business, Robbins-Gioia was cited as one of the most employee-friendly small companies in Northern Virginia. The article mentioned that the company pays more than 90 percent of health-care premiums and offers matching contributions to 401(k) plans, life insurance, paid family leave, tuition assistance and professional development opportunities.
